September 2012) A solicitor who has met the opposing party socially may continue to act against that party as there has been no solicitor-client relationship. The solicitor may continue to act unless it is known or becomes apparent that the solicitor will be required to give evidence in the proceeding -- Legal practice management -Confidentiality (R4781 ? October 2012) A legal centre may provide a client?s file to the funding government department if the client gives informed consent and the department confirms that client legal privilege and confidentiality are maintained.
