Family law - Conflict of interest (R4785 ? October 2012) The mere fact that a firm acts for various members of a family against other members of the same family is not of itself a conflict. There needs to be some overlap between the substantive matters before the firm will be conflicted out -- Commercial -- Conflict of interest (R4787 ? November 2012) A solicitor may continue to act for a director of a company and the company in defending a claim against the company made by another director if the interests of the director and the company for whom the solicitor is acting are aligned.
