Family - conflict of interest; successive (R4459 May 2007) - A conflict may arise, particularly in family law matters, where a firm has previously obtained relevant confidential information about the other party by having previously acted for a relative of the other party ; Property - conflict of interest; concurrent (R4437 May 2007) - A firm may act for both parties to a lease and subsequent subdivision where the requirements of r8 of the Professional Conduct and Practice Rules 2005 are met ; Litigation - lien; acting on instructions (R4467 June 2007) - A firm's undertaking (supported by the client's instructions in the form of an irrovocable authority) to preserve the "fruits of litigation" in respect of the former firm's costs continues irrespective of a client's subsequent instructions ; Commercial - conflict of interest; successive (R4461 June 2007) - the higher threshold for conflict in family law matters may affect a firms ability to subsequently act for a director or company in commercial matters ; Property - conflict of interest; solicitor as witness (R4474 July 2007) - The participation of a lawyer in negotiations for a lease may not create a conflict if the lawyer is required to give evidence on behalf of client
