Notice to Practitioners. The Statute Law Amendment (Relationships) Act 2001 has amended the Administration and Probate Act 1958 (Vic). These amendments alter the scheme of distribution in intestate estates by recognising the rights of domestic partners, regardless of sex. A related clause has been added to the standard pre-printed affidavit filed by applicants seeking grants of administration in intestate estates. The amended form is available from the LIV bookshop.
