Notes:
The use of restraints in aged care facilities poses many clinical, ethical and legal dilemmas. There is a clear push towards establishing a restraint-free environment which facilities and the medical profession must recognise. A recent AMA position statement reinforces this point and emphasises the role doctors play in the implementation of restraints.
