Notes:
The High Court's Powerflex decision represents a victory for computer software developers who want to produce products that are compatible with exisiting applications. The decision reaffirms the traditional distinction between the expression of an idea or function and the idea or function itself. It also reaffirms that copyright law will be applied to to protect the product of the programmer's skill and art, rather than the functions that that art achieves
